As most of you know, the deadline to file and pay your federal and state tax returns and any liability has been extended until Wednesday, July 15. In order to prepare your returns by that deadline, we must receive all information by June 24, 2020 to ensure that your returns will be completed by July 15, 2020. If we have not received all of your information by June 24, 2020, we cannot guarantee that your returns will be completed before the extended deadline.

 If we are unable to complete the returns, we will assume that you want us to prepare an extension of time to file your returns for up to three months to the set deadline of October 15, 2020. However, you will need to provide us with an authorization before we can file the extension on your behalf. You should keep in mind that this would be an extension of time to file the returns only. If any tax is due, it must be paid with the extension request. This has not changed even though the extension deadline has.

For your information, we are considered an essential business and have continued our work even though the daily restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
